We tried this activity for the first time this year and it went better than expected. With more examples for next year’s class now having done it once, it should even get better. The purpose of the assignment is to have students demonstrate their understanding of fitness concepts and exercises taught in class. They had to create a fitness video using their iPad (or any other mobile device with a video camera) and incorporate a warm-up, 4 strength training exercises, 2 cardio exercises and a cool down. Teaching cues and muscle identification were an expectation. At the end of the project students viewed each others’ videos and voted for their favorites. Oscar tropies were given to the winners! You could “tweek” this assignment in so many ways.
